How to Measure Doorways and Stairs Before a Delivery
Take five minutes with a tape measure and save a wasted delivery day.
Measure the whole route
Front door width and height, hallway width, stair width, landing depth, and the doorway of the destination room. Write down the smallest number in each category.
Check the diagonal
Large items travel on the diagonal. Compare the item's diagonal depth to your narrowest opening rather than its width alone.
Send photos
A photo of the entry and stairwell tells an experienced crew more than measurements alone.
